Kenko Helps You Get the Shot!

You learn the word "composition" early in your photography experience. But the limitations of the standard zoom lenses on today's video and digital cameras often make good composition impossible without a conversion lens. Most often, you've got plenty of telephoto range to your zoom, but not nearly enough wide-angle. Try to shoot an interior room, or capture the effect of a scenic mountain range, and you simply can't get the shot without a converter. And not just any converter. Your converter must have the convenience and functionality to enhance your difficult shots, and the optical quality that keeps your image sharp and crystal-clear, without any problematic vignetting! That's the difference between a converter that's a video accessory, and a video necessity. Any pro knows the name Kenko.

In a very real way, Kenko began developing this complete line of PRO-through-consumer video lenses about 20 years ago--yes, well before the cameras themselves were even on the drawing boards. That's the benefit of having a common heritage with two other giants of optical technology and manufacturing: Tokina lenses and Hoya filters. As part of the Kenko Tokina USA family of photo products, you're assured of the most advanced design and fabrication technologies available. Superior optical configurations. Micron unit quality control. And a time-honored tradition of performance that runs in the family. With the Kenko name on the front, you get a lot more than meets the eye.

The Effects of Conversion Lenses

Since it fits right over your camera's existing lens system, a wide-angle converter affects the full zoom range of your camera's lens. A wide-angle converter increases your angle of view - scenics include more of the landscape, groups include more people, and interiors show more of the room. A 0.5x wide-angle converter DOUBLES your angle of view, allowing you to get twice as much in the picture (AND your telephoto setting also becomes wider; not zooming in as close). Conversely, a telephoto converter brings everything closer. A 2x converter will double your camera's maximum focal length, bringing things twice as close, throughout the zoom range.

Improved Digital Imagery

A Kenko conversion lens can actually improve the image that your digital camera receives. And it is about the only accessory that can. By eliminating flare and ghosting--the ugly cousins of reflection and refraction--before they get to your camera's original lens system, your camera gets a much cleaner image to digitize. Plus, a Kenko converter allows you to use a more optimal part of your original lens system, resulting in more crisp imagery.

Refinement & Innovation

Kenko defines the difference between accessories and necessities.

Any Kenko product, and especially this line of digital & video conversion lenses, is the end result of a long, successful, continuous series of optical refinements and technological innovation. The quality family resemblance is clear--proprietary multi-coatings, premium-quality materials, precision manufacturing procedures that only the largest, most advanced companies can afford to do. The Kenko name on the front defines the difference between video accessories, and video necessities.
